Overview
The Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Utah School of Medicine has openings for a Pediatric Neurologist/Neurointensivist. The physician will provide high‑level care, including attending on the neurology ICU consultation service, staffing an outpatient clinic, and providing inpatient neurovascular consultations as well as acute telehealth and telestroke consultation and care through our Virtual Hospital and telestroke initiatives. Clinical duties will comprise approximately 90% of the individual’s time commitment, primarily at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, the Primary Children’s Eccles Outpatient Building, and Primary Children’s Hospital outpatient clinics in Lehi.
ProgramContext
The Division maintains an excellent collegial relationship with pediatric neurosurgical, vascular neurosurgical, hematology, rehabilitation, and neuroimaging colleagues. Neurointensive care is an area of expanding need, and the division provides specialty care in a variety of pediatric and developmental neurological conditions including neuromuscular, vascular disease, movement disorders, headache, and functional neuroimaging. The pediatric neurovascular team is tightly integrated within a larger collaborative division that delivers most pediatric neurology services across Utah and much of the Intermountain West.
QualificationsQualified candidates must be Board‑Eligible/Board‑Certified in both Pediatrics and Neurology with a Special Qualification in Child Neurology. Subspecialty training in neonatal neurology, stroke, and/or neurologic intensive care is strongly preferred. Selected candidates will receive faculty appointments in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical track at the academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
