Pediatric Pathology Assistant, Associate or Full Professor

Overview

The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah seeks a pathologist with training in the diagnosis, teaching, and clinical research of pediatric pathology. The position supports growth and retirement planning, with a focus on pediatric GI and liver pathology. There is the opportunity to lead diagnostic and translational research in this area, along with mentoring to develop other areas of expertise (surgical/oncologic, perinatal/autopsy, laboratory/transfusion medicine).

Service distribution is flexible to match needs and interests. All faculty participate in clinical call (pathology and laboratory) on a rotating basis.

The Division of Pediatric Pathology is based at Primary Children's Hospital on the University of Utah campus. It is operated by Intermountain Health and serves a 5-state area in the Intermountain West, including the 332-bed Salt Lake City Campus and the recently opened 66-bed Miller Campus just south of the city. The division currently includes 8 pediatric pathologists and a fellowship training program.

• Display excellence in the diagnosis, teaching, and clinical research of pediatric pathology.
• Participate in clinical call (pathology and laboratory) on a rotating basis.
• Balance clinical service with opportunities to lead GI and liver pathology translational research and diagnostic efforts.
• Develop and mentor other areas of expertise (surgical/oncologic, perinatal/autopsy, laboratory/transfusion medicine) as requested.
• Contribute to education and research programs within the department and affiliated institutions.

• Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology or equivalent.
• Eligibility for certification in Pediatric Pathology or equivalent training/experience.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Utah.
• Salary and rank based on training and experience.
