SummaryThe Construction Manager will oversee the construction of cellular towers/MOD upgrades/Tech Upgrades/and General Maintenance by supervising both the ground and tower crews to ensure timely completion of the project and maintain project budgets.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities- Safety First – Put safety first and production second. Always.
- Schedule the project resources in logical steps and budget the time required to meet the deadline.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing and submitting budget estimates, progress reports, or cost-tracking reports.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to interpret and understand plans and contract terms and execute scope according to the contracted scope.
- Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems.
- Take proactive action to effectively deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the site.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes or other regulations and ensure the contracted scope is completed.
- Study job specifications, plans, and scope to determine appropriate construction methods.
- Direct and supervise all crew members.
- Requisition supplies or materials to complete construction projects.
- Investigate damage or delays at construction sites to ensure proper procedures are carried out.
- Determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction sites.
- Evaluate construction methods and help determine the cost-effectiveness of an assigned task.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with health & safety environment regulations.
- Ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This job operates in a field environment. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to routinely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift 50lbs or more, lift in awkward positions, stand, and twist for extended periods.
- Must be willing to travel out of market/state for up to several months at a time (90%).
- May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicles. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and be a valued member of the crew and the company.
- Must have working experience in tower construction management and construction management software.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have basic computer skills.
- Must understand construction management processes, methods and the ability to manage and work within a budget.
- Must have knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Must be able to plan and see the “Big Picture.”
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and by email with team members and clients.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
- Must be self-motivated with the desire to learn new things and project a positive attitude toward others in all work‑related settings.
- Must be competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Must have leadership and coaching skills.
- Must be able to work on a team and independently as required.
This position will directly supervise the Tower and Ground Lead positions.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position.
Workdays and hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some overtime requirements.
TravelWeekly travel is required for this position. Usually between 50‑80% of the time.
