Civil and Excavation Estimator

Overview

B.H. Inc. is hiring a full-time Civil and Excavation Senior Estimator to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for earthwork and utility projects. Responsibilities include conducting takeoffs and pricing for earthwork, grading, and underground utility tasks, evaluating project plans and specifications, visiting project sites to understand site conditions, and collaborating with team members to build comprehensive estimates. This position is located in North Salt Lake, Ogden or Saint George.

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for earthwork and utility projects.
• Conduct takeoffs and pricing for earthwork, grading, and underground utilities.
• Evaluate project plans and specifications; visit project sites to understand conditions and limitations.
• Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive estimates.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• 5–10 years of experience as an estimator for earthwork, grading or underground projects.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and project owners.
• Willingness to learn estimating processes including bid invitations, takeoffs, estimating software, and plan/spec review.
• Experience with Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Planswift, TBC, Agtek and Estimate (B2W).

Salary range of $100,000–$140,000 or more (depending on experience), paid weekly. Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, a 401(k) plan with match, and paid time off (PTO).
