URS Investments Department

The Investments Team is responsible for implementing the investment program of the URS Defined Benefit plan. The Investments Team manages investments internally and partners with external investment firms to manage a globally diversified portfolio. The teams’ efforts have a strong emphasis on Absolute Return, Real Assets, and Private Equity investments. Defined Benefit assets were $48.1 billion as of 12/31/2024.

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs a variety of administrative duties for the Investments Department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
  • Provides administrative support to the Investments Department team.
  • Coordinates with the Corporate Travel Coordinator to schedule travel for Investments Department staff. Arranges trip logistics, due diligence meetings with managers, and asset visits; prepares travel and reimbursement requests, creates itineraries, monitors trip reports; tracks upcoming travel obligations by asset class.
  • Greets clients, answers incoming phone calls, takes messages, and provides information to callers.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail; prepares outgoing deliveries.
  • Maintains contact data in the Customer Relationship Management system for department staff.
  • Schedules maintenance and service on office machines.
  • Plans and coordinates in office and offsite events.
  • Manages scheduling and calendaring for the department staff.
  • Assists with managing Outlook inboxes as requested and follows up on actionable items as appropriate.
  • Takes Staff Meeting notes and Investment Committee Meeting Minutes as required.
  • Scans and inputs notes/reports into systems as directed by members of the Investments team.
  • Maintains the Investments Department filing systems.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Required Experience

High school diploma and three (3) years of experience with administrative methods, processes, and procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the finance industry is preferred.

Additional Requirements

As a requirement of this position, the employee may be required to submit to the URS Investment Compliance Officer a record of trade confirmations or monthly transaction summaries, as they become available, of all security transactions (excluding mutual funds), in any account under the employee’s control and direction, or under the control and direction of the employee’s spouse.

Work Environment

Incumbent performs in a typical office setting with appropriate climate control. Tasks require a variety of physical activities which do not generally involve muscular strain, but do require activities related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Filing requires lifting, bending, stooping to move and maneuver awkward sized files weighing up to 20 pounds. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform essential functions.
