A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is a leading supplier of new and used railroad track materials. A&K has sales offices and a network of storage and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. Together, these offices and inventory locations maintain an extensive and comprehensive inventory of track materials across the nation. Our mission is to provide innovative solutions to promote lasting railway infrastructure.

A&K seeks a driven individual to fill a sales administrative position for the Salt Lake City sales office. This individual will be offered the opportunity to learn hands‑on, all aspects of the railroad track material business. Sales administrative assistants at A&K are responsible for assisting and developing business opportunities outlined by inside and outside sales managers. This position will aid in the creation of solutions to grow overall sales through increased velocity and customer satisfaction.

  • Answering and directing customer calls.
  • Handle data entry into A&K’s enterprise system including but not limited to; quote entry, order entry, and processing.
  • Order tracking and communicating shipping information and status with customer base.
  • CRM data entry and management.
  • Arrange travel for SLC sales staff and meeting agendas.
  • Assist with customer complaints, documentation, and resolutions.
  • Prepare quotations utilizing in-house technology.
  • Take proactive approach to learn product line as well as material inventory.
  • Assess, collect, and report competitive information.
  • Work effectively with outside sales personnel regarding customer needs and business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • 1-3 years administrative office experience; preferably in a Sales environment
  • Ability to multitask and have excellent time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, & Power Point
