TheOpportunity
We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Salt Lake City. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for an accounting professional with 1-2 years of experience who's ready to take ownership of general ledger activities, account reconciliations, month-end close procedures, and help the team with clerk-level tasks when needed. You'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining GAAP compliance while supporting our Accounting Manager and broader finance operations.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger with accuracy and attention to detail
- Perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Execute month-end close tasks in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting and management review
- Oversee the corporate card program, including reconciliation, coding, and policy compliance
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, including invoice processing and cash application
- Ensure GAAP compliance in all journal entries and accounting processes
- Maintain proficiency in ERP systems (Net Suite experience strongly preferred)
- Contribute to process improvements and system optimization initiatives
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams on special projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-2 years of accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and their practical application
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Demonstrated account reconciliation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to work on‑site in Salt Lake City, UT
- Preferred:
Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry, Net Suite certification, or pursuing CPA certification
- Work with a well‑established medical device company with over 40 years of industry leadership
- Gain exposure to complex accounting processes and advanced ERP systems
- Develop expertise in GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and month‑end close procedures
