What You'll Do

As the Payroll Specialist, you will process Bi-weekly payroll for both U.S. and Canada. You will be part of a dynamic team who provides support in all areas of payroll. Other duties will include:

* Remit tax payments and assist with tax filings

* Managing and processing of union payments

* Process on demand payments

* Assist with reconciliation questions and researching of payroll GL accounts

* Communicate via phone, email or in writing with employees, benefits specialist, human resources, managers, banks, credit merchants and state or federal agencies

* Prepare and assist with running and distributing monthly reports

* Review and understand all company policies with respect to those polices that may govern the assigned payroll responsibilities

* Perform planning primarily around individual workload in order to meet deadlines for department and business objectives

What We're Looking For:

* 2+ years payroll processing experience

* Associates degree in accounting preferred

* Experience with SAP is desired

* Working knowledge of laws / regulations governing payroll, benefits and payroll taxes is preferred.

* Previous payroll experience in a large (2000+) complex organization preferred.

* The Payroll Specialist must be able to multitask and have a high level of expertise in Excel and advanced computer knowledge.

* Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

* Ability to use positive communication to work effectively with multiple individuals within the organization.

* Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
