Overview

General Accountant related functions, including accounts payable of vendor invoices, efforts to collect payment from customers for past-due invoices, general journal entries, and month-end accounting related activities. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Collections - email account statements to customers
• Follow up and request payment on delinquent accounts via email and phone

• Set up of a new vendor in the system
• Posting invoices from freight forwarders for shipments to customers
• Pay vendors with a credit card and apply the payment within the system

• Petty cash reconciliation
• Year-end distribution of 1099s
• Sales tax accruals
• Sales tax filings (quarterly)

• Answering phone calls
• Check the main voicemail
• Breakroom and conference room management

Act as back-up for the following areas, to cover these positions when needed:

• Balancing petty cash
• General ledger reconciliation

• Generate customer invoices
• Process daily deposit with the bank
