This role supports core accounting functions by preparing journal entries, processing invoices and payments, maintaining accurate accruals and reconciliations, and analyzing account trends. You’ll partner closely with internal teams to ensure customer accounts, rebates, and gift card activity are recorded accurately and on time—helping drive smart, informed business decisions across the organization.

Location/Schedule:
  • This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters with a 4-day hybrid in-office schedule.
Position Summary & Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • The Accounts Receivable Staff Accountant supports daily accounting operations by managing customer accounts, processing transactions, and preparing financial data for reporting and analysis. You’ll ensure accuracy across invoices, payments, accruals, rebates, and reconciliations while identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Complete account reconciliations, customer setup, and application of customer payments.
  • Invoice customers, accrue rebates, and process gift card orders.
  • Record periodic journal entries to support month-end and ongoing accounting activities.
  • Process, update, and maintain accrual reporting to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare, interpret, and analyze financial data for reporting and business insights.
  • Conduct account trend analysis to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
  • 1+ years of related accounting experience and/or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience working with accounting software systems and financial data platforms.
  • Ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $58,900–$72,700 + DOE and Bonus Opportunities The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
