Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves performing essential accounting functions to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in reconciliation processes and demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

- Manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation and reporting.

- Oversee accounts payable processes, including timely invoice processing and payment scheduling.

- Conduct cash and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to maintain compliance with accounting standards.

- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to address industry-specific accounting needs.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial reports and records.

- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures efficiently.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations during all accounting activities.

- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Requirements - Proven experience with journal entries and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.

- Background in accounting within the manufacturing industry is preferred.

- Proficiency in performing cash and bank reconciliations.

- Ability to execute balance sheet account reconciliations accurately.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools used for financial reporting.

- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Strong organizational and communication abilities to collaborate effectively within a team.
