Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

We are an established aerospace machine shop. We pride ourselves on quality, efficiency, and long-term customer relationships. We are seeking an experienced Controller to manage and strengthen our financial operations.

The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial functions of the shop, providing accurate reporting, cost control, and strategic insight to support profitability and growth. This role works closely with the owner and general manager.

• Oversee all accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage job costing, WIP, and margin analysis
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts
• Oversee inventory accounting and valuation
• Coordinate with outside CPA for tax filings and audits
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
• Develop and improve internal controls and processes
• Provide financial analysis to support pricing and operational decisions

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required)
• 5+ years of accounting/controllership experience, manufacturing or machine shop experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of job costing and inventory accounting
• Experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting systems
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software
• Detail-oriented, organized, and hands‑on
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with shop leadership
