Overview

Intermountain Home Services is hiring a Senior Accountant to oversee core accounting processes and play a key role in monthly financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. As a senior member of the accounting team, you’ll provide expertise and consistency in executing day-to-day accounting functions, while identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset who wants to contribute to a growing, values-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and balance sheet items
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close, including financial reporting packages
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Coordinate with outside tax advisors and auditors
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure timely and accurate financial entries
  • Recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4–6 years of experience in general accounting (public or private sector)
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software (Quick Books, Sage, Net Suite, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
