Training Area Operative

Responsibilities

• Keep training areas operational by maintaining safe, clean, mission‑ready spaces
• Deliver general grounds and facility maintenance across the training estate
• Complete tasks including grass cutting, vegetation control and basic DIY where needed
• Support training delivery through handover checks, safety briefings and troop sign in
• Operate plant and equipment with full training provided
• Use digital tools including tablets and the after action review system
• Maintain accurate records by completing routine checks and updating work orders
• Uphold strict safety standards across all activity
• Practical DIY and grounds maintenance skills
• Confidence using IT systems
• Comfortable around loud noises (simulated firing, explosions, vehicles)
• Comfortable working in an outdoor, multi‑site environment
• Flexible and able to manage changing work priorities at short notice
• Strong communication skills with ability to follow procedures
• Professional, safety‑focused mindset
• Full UK driving licence as travel required
