Locum Urology Consultant

Job Summary

This is a 12‑month Consultant Urologist full‑time role at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will deliver specialist care in outpatient clinic, perform outpatient procedures (LA flexi botox, TULA) and work in theatre. They will attend MDTs and support the specialist nursing team.

Full‑time 10PA plan: 1 in 7 on‑call rota with delivery of outpatient clinics, procedures and emergency/elective theatre work. The 10 PA weekly plan includes 8.5 PAs Direct Clinical Care and 1.5 PAs Supporting Professional Activities. Part‑time arrangements, job sharing and flexible working will be considered.

• Provide specialist urological care in clinic and theatre.
• Perform outpatient procedures including LA flexi botox, TULA, precision point biopsy.
• Attend Urology MDTs and contribute to pathway development.
• Support and develop the specialist nursing team.
• Engage in clinical audit and research, applying evidence‑based practice.
• Teach trainees and support professional development.
• Maintain clinical governance, risk management and performance targets.

• On the urology specialist register and full GMC registration.
• Evidence of consultant experience in urology.
• Strong clinical judgement, risk management and evidence‑based practice.
• Team working, leadership, and ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Empathy, patient‑centred approach and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to teaching and research.
• Capacity to manage workload and prioritise effectively.
