Overview of the role

Whether you are new to the industry or have come from a social care background, we welcome your application. as you'llbe provided with in-house training when you start work with Choice Care. Working alongside our permanent staff team, not only will you make a huge difference topeople’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and leadfulfilling lives.

Key duties

  • Providing personal care – including bathing, toileting, dressing and help with feeding
  • Medication administration
  • Assisting and getting involved in residents'daily activities, hobbies or outings
  • Following care plan guidance alongside

    Company policies and procedures
  • Developing an open, honest, and considerate working relationship with residents
  • Maintaining written daily records
  • Attending and completingtraining, as required

Where willl you work?

Clarendon House, located just outside Salisbury city centre, currently supports up to seven men and women of varied ages with a moderate to mild learning disability, mental health conditions and/or autism, including Asperger’s Syndrome. The home is specifically registered to support individuals with a dual diagnosis. Each resident has a bespoke support plan, based on their personal preferences, likes and dislikes and goals in life.

Staff aim to support everyone to develop self-confidence and practical living skills, with the aim of moving on to a more independent setting. To support emotional and general wellbeing we offer in-house positive behaviour support, along with a commitment to ongoing education and personal development through structured activity programmes, both inside the home and out in the local community, including arts & crafts, cooking sessions and computer skills.

Clarendon House is particularly suited to individuals moving back to the area from a previous out-of-county placement and for those moving on from a secure hospital setting.
