About

The Role

As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide practice leadership, professional support, and supervision to Social Workers and social care staff within our mental health teams.

ELA you will play a key role in promoting safeguarding, driving evidence‑based practice, and ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities. This role combines leadership responsibilities with a small caseload of complex work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional leadership and supervision to Social Workers and Customer Coordinators.
  • Chair multi‑agency meetings and deputise for the Team Manager when required.
  • uamate a small caseload of complex cases, ensuring person‑centred practice and compliance with legislation.
  • Promote safeguarding and act as Investigating Manager or Officer as needed.
  • Contribute to policy development and lead implementation of new legislation and guidance.
  • Monitor team performance and budget spend, ensuring best value and high‑quality outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with health partners, voluntary organisations, and other stakeholders to improve service delivery.
About You
  • BA/BSc/MA/MSc in Social İçlar or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience in social care.
  • Expert knowledge of social care legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
  • Proven experience in staff supervision, training, and development.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
  • Ability to travel across the county.
Desirable
  • Best Interests Assessor qualification.
  • Practice Educator qualification.
  • Experience in audits or research.

  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Politically restricted post.
  • Professional fees are the responsibility of the post holder.
