Prospero Teaching is seeking a patient, supportive, and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive school in Salisbury. This position involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social-emotional challenges.
You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver personalised support that helps pupils stay engaged, build confidence, regulate emotions, and develop key learning skills. This role is perfect for individuals who are calm, empathetic, and looking for a meaningful position where they can make a genuine impact.
This opportunity is ideal for those with backgrounds in care, support work, youth work, SEN settings, or graduates in fields such as psychology, education, or child development.
The Role:
Provide supportive 1:1 and small-group assistance to pupils with SEND
Help pupils engage with learning and manage transitions throughout the day
Support communication, emotional regulation, and confidence
Assist teachers with adapted resources and tailored learning plans
Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social development
Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and pastoral team
Create a calm, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
Experience with children, SEN, care, youth work, or support roles
Calm, patient, and able to think clearly when situations are challenging
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A positive role model who can build trust and maintain consistency
Psychology, criminology, education, and childhood studies graduates welcomed
Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning

Pay: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour
Duration:
Flexible
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience with children or SEN desirable but not essential
Safeguarding training can be provided
Understanding of SEND strategies beneficial
Eligibility:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
