Teaching Assistants – SEMH & 1:1 Support Roles
We are seeking dedicated, resilient and playful Teaching Assistants to join our supportive and nurturing school community. These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a real difference for children and young people with SEMH, ASD, trauma and attachment needs.
We have a range of class-based and 1:1 support roles available across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 3, supporting pupils with varying levels of need. Some pupils require support to re-engage with education following significant time out of school, while others need consistent, emotionally attuned support to thrive within the school environment.
About the roles
Supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, trauma and attachment needs
Working either within a class setting or 1:1, depending on the role
Helping pupils regulate emotions, build trust and access learning
Supporting integration into school routines and social environments
Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team
What we’re looking for
A resilient, calm and consistent approach
A playful, engaging style — ideally suited to active, hands-on support
The ability to build strong, trusting relationships
Confidence supporting pupils with high emotional and behavioural needs
Experience in a similar setting is essential (youth work, education, care of children)
A willingness to undertake training and ongoing professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
