We are looking to hire an experienced Field Mechanic to join our team!
Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot and repair heavy construction equipment
* Order parts as needed
* Prioritize repairs based on job needs
* Follow supervisor directions
* Travel to work sites in the greater Charlotte area
* Work independently or with fellow field mechanics
* Complete DOT paperwork in a timely manner
* Conduct daily Pre-trip inspection of mechanic's truck
* Perform regular upkeep of mechanic's truck
* Account for daily parts invoices
* Create and complete work orders correctly and timely
* Contribute knowledge and ideas to increase productivity
* Continue learning and strengthening skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
* Works well independently and has a passion to learn
* Good organization skills and follow through
* Alert, focused, and detail oriented
* Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Basic understanding of safe work practices
* Clean driving record
* Full set of tools for large equipment repair
* Familiar with OEM standards
* Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
* Experience:
* 5+ years of CAT mechanic background
* Basic knowledge of Cat SIS and ET (training available)
* Current medical examiners certificate (Card needed)
