Quality Control Chemist
As a Quality Control Chemist, you will perform routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, along with wastewater sampling and adjustments. You must be able to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) adequately and perform triplicate assessments on testing procedures.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental protocols and procedures, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct while conducting all company business.
- Perform in-process and finished product testing on products.
- Complete laboratory records and other documentation correctly following good documentation practices.
- Communicate with the Shift Production Supervisor regarding in-process batch adjustments based on analytical test results.
- Clean work area and notify colleagues when consumables need to be ordered.
- Maintain an orderly workplace.
- Communicate effectively within the Quality Control department and with all other business units and customers.
- Capable of understanding and adhering to SHE standards inside the laboratory and facility.
- Capable of communicating and relating to employees at all levels of the company.
- Capable of independent work while adjusting to the priorities of production.
- Capable of walking and standing for long periods of time.
- Bachelor's degree in a science discipline;
Chemistry preferred. - Basic computer skills, including familiarity with spreadsheet programs.
- Strong math and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑starter who is motivated to do what is necessary.
- Well‑organized.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment, preferably GC/LC/FTIR, and techniques such as titration and liquid‑liquid partition.
- Previous laboratory experience.
You will work in a Quality Control lab for a chemical manufacturer, operating on a 3rd shift from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am with a rotating 2/2/3 schedule. The company focuses significantly on the development of employees, offering performance evaluations even for contractors to set them up for success. There is an emphasis on cross‑training on instrumentation and encouraging the education of certifications.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SALISBURY, NC.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
