OR RN in Salisbury, NC

A registered nurse with specialized operating room expertise is needed for a contract opportunity in Salisbury, NC. This role involves working 12-hour day shifts in a busy surgical environment that supports a wide range of specialties and advanced procedures. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of OR nursing experience and be prepared for an average of six call shifts every 6 weeks with a prompt 45-minute response time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide circulating and/or scrubbing nursing support in diverse surgical specialties such as trauma, ortho trauma, total joints, spine, cardiovascular, gynecological oncology, robotics, bariatrics, and more.
• Participate in weekend rotations (every 4th weekend) either via scheduled shifts or call coverage.
• Maintain flexible and adaptable care, accommodating emergent case requests during shifts.
• Collaborate with clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, and surgical techs to ensure smooth OR operations.
• Utilize EMR system (EPIC) and manage typical OR equipment safely and effectively.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Licensed NC Registered Nurse with current BLS certification; CNOR preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of operating room nursing experience; first-time travelers not considered.
• Proficient in circulating and scrubbing for complex cases including laparoscopic, vascular, robotic, and open surgeries.
• Charge nurse experience required for night shift consideration.
• Reliable with a strong sense of teamwork, decision-making, and adaptability.

Scheduling Details:

• 12-hour day shifts primarily 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
• Weekend rotation every 4th weekend; coverage may be on call or scheduled.
• Call shifts average 6 per every 6-week cycle.
• Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays.
