Registered Nurse - Patient Care Services

The Salisbury VA Healthcare System is seeking a highly skilled/experienced Registered Nurse to serve within Patient Care Services. Demonstrates leadership, experience/ingenious approaches to management of complex patient care. Accountable for the management of patient care, human, fiscal/material resources, & the total environment of the unit. Responsible to ensure that the highest possible quality of care is achieved & a safe therapeutic environment.

The Registered Nurse- RN Recruiter is responsible for nursing and recruitment duties as listed in the functional statement and as directed by the Deputy Associate Director of Patient Care Services.

The Nurse Recruiter develops strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to build a pipeline of candidates and transitions nursing students into the workforce. They analyze recruitment and retention data to develop strategies and initiatives, serve as a clinical advisor to Senior Leadership and nursing management, and foster a supportive environment for professional development. The Nurse Recruiter also incorporates professional standards and implements evidence-based changes with documented outcomes.

The Nurse Recruiter performs the following responsibilities and duties

* Functions as an internal consultant in evaluating programs, resources, and services.

* Initiates and maintains databases, prepares, reports, and works collaboratively with others to assess variances and project needs.

* Facilitates recommendations for systems and/or resource changes that will serve to improve the work force and resource utilization.

* Works collaboratively with nursing administration and Human Resources Management Service to meet resource needs.

* Forecasts needs based on trends in the VA and in the community. Conducts employee exit interviews and trends data.

* Serves as the Coordinator for Nurse Hours Per Patient Day-NHPPD VA Staffing Methodology and extracts staffing data from VA Nursing Outcomes Database-VANOD for trending and reporting. Coordinates the DAISY Award program. Coordinates Nurses Week.

Preferred Experience:

* BSN in Nursing-Preferred Minimum of 3 years VA experience.

* Minimum of 5 years in various RN specialties.

* Management/leadership/program lead experience.
