Project Manager

The project manager is responsible for scheduling projects, resource allocation, material procurement, submittals, and coordinating onsite activities with the project supervisors.

American Lighting and Signalization (ALS) provides street lighting and traffic signalization construction, maintenance and emergency response services in the southeastern and mid‑Atlantic United States. Our major customers include state departments of transportation (DOTs), investor‑owned and municipal utilities, commercial retail land developments and commercial road contractors.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute regional procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost‑effective sourcing of materials, components, and services for traffic signal and ITS related projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to identify material requirements and optimize procurement processes for efficiency and cost savings
  • Interaction with project supervisors and subcontractors for coordination to ensure schedule, and cost controls are being met.
  • Manages project risks, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals (e.g., schedule, scope and quality) are achieved.
  • Assists with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed.
  • Long term outlook and planning to ensure long‑lead items are procured as needed per schedule.
  • Identifies project management coordination process gaps or areas for improvement and recommends and implements solutions.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Education & Experience
  • Experience creating and maintaining resource‑loaded project schedules
  • Experience utilizing resource tools to manage capacity, forecast demand and allocation of employees
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
Pre‑Screen

License & Certifications
  • Driver License Required.
