As a Surg Tech at Novant Health’s Rowan Medical Center, you’ll be trusted to deliver expert care across a wide range of procedures and patient needs. What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required.
  • Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Current Surgical Tech Certification, preferred.
  • Additional skills required: For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification within 12months of hire. xrlwcon Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills
What You'll Do:
  • Work under the supervision of a surgeon and RN to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures
  • Ensure that the operating room environment is safe
  • Ensure that equipment functions properly
  • Scrub cases
  • Turnover rooms
  • Ensure that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety
  • Application of sterile and aspetic technique with the knowledge of human anatomy, surgicla procedures, and implementation tools
  • Facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
