Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/IR Technologist with 2+ years of experience and strong interventional radiology skills.
Responsibilities- Work in a combo lab environment featuring interventional radiology (80%), cardiology, vascular, and electrophysiology procedures
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Common procedures include implants such as PPM and ICD
- Responsibilities include scrub, circulate, and telemetry duties for IR and cath lab procedures
- Specialized equipment includes GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Penumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, IABP, Impella, and various ultrasound units
- Uses both cardiac and vascular imaging modalities
- Day shift: 5x8 hour days, 07:30 - 16:00
- Weekday call twice per week for two weeks each month (16:00-07:30); weekend call Friday 16:00-Monday 07:30 once monthly
- No call required the week following a weekend call
- Additional coverage may be required rotationally to meet departmental needs
- No floating required
- Every third weekend required
- Unit orientation ranges from 40 to 80 hours
- Scrubs are provided
- Assist providers during diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
- Work as part of a call team including three staff members, one of whom is an RN
- Medication administration is performed by RNs only
- Techs begin unit work on Mondays prior to Dimensions training
- Holiday and extra coverage needs are covered equitably among staff
- RTO (requested time off) after booking is not allowed; unapproved absences may result in contract cancellation
- First-time travelers are considered
- Locals are accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab or IR Technologist
- Must have interventional radiology experience
- Current ACLS and BCLS certifications required
- ARRT or RCIS certification required
- Experience with scrub, circulate, and telemetry duties required
- Ability to respond to urgent/emergent STEMI and IR procedures with appropriate callback time
- Preferred skills: EKG lead placement, ARRT Advanced Certification, RCES, or RCIS with medical experience
- License required if applicable
