The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.

** Description of Work
** Salary Range- $31,200-$49,340 This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates.
Employees in this class handle the initial interviewing and processing of those persons entering the prison system. Employees are located at a Diagnostic Center in the prison facility where the inmates are processed. Work primarily involves gathering socioeconomic information, education, substance abuse history, explaining terms of the sentence, and providing general orientation to prison processes and procedures. Work also includes recording data and maintaining all inmate records.
Position will report to the Correctional Senior Case Analyst.

Education and Experience
