The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.

** Description of Work
** Salary range: $39,671-$69,426    This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, NC (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates.
The position will assist the Correctional Administrative Services Manager in the handling of the administrative process. The position will supervise staff in purchasing, operation of canteens, warehouse, inmate and officer clothes house, mailroom, equipment control, operating and welfare budgets, accounting, data processing and maintaining the inmate trust fund. This position is responsible for overseeing all purchases at the institution based on the Department of Adult Correction Fiscal Policy and Procedures.

This position is responsible for equipment/inventory control, motor vehicles log, expense vouchers, cashless canteen operations, Inmate Trust Fund Operations and Incentive Wage Operations. This position also assists in Personnel. Must have knowledge of Word, BEACON, Excel, Access, and other office equipment. Must be able to produce and create forms; compose memos and type various types of correspondence.
