Oversee the daily operations of 2 sand and gravel operations located in Seaford Delaware and Mardela Springs Maryland; along with a terminal located in Seaford Delaware. Responsible for oversite of the processing plants, focusing on safety, efficiency, and material quality. Responsibilities include managing mining, equipment maintenance, staff supervision, and compliance with MSHA and environmental regulations. Optimize production schedules, manage budgets, and ensure customer requirements are met.
EssentialFunctions
- Operational Management: Directs all phases of aggregate processing, including mining, processing, stockpiling, and loading.
- Mining Operation: Mining operation includes management and oversite of two cutter suction dredges.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensures strict adherence to MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration), OSHA, and environmental regulations, leading on-site safety meetings and training.
- Production Planning: Develops and implements production plans, schedules, and budgets to maximize productivity while controlling costs.
- Maintenance & Equipment: Directs and participates in the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of production equipment and mobile equipment to ensure optimal uptime.
- Quality Control: Monitors, analyzes, and maintains quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) standards for aggregate products.
- Staff Leadership: Supervises, trains, and develops, hourly staff to foster a positive, productive workforce.
- Customer & Vendor Relations: Contact with customers regarding product delivery and quality and works with vendors on equipment or supplies.
- Experience: 3-5+ years in aggregate, mining, or heavy civil construction, with demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mining and production processes, and heavy equipment.
- Certifications: MSHA training certification is frequently required.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, budgetary management, and problem-solving skills.
