The Purchasing Assistant at American Cruise Lines is an entry level buying position in a fast-growing company, who will be responsible for scheduling and ordering provisions/supplies for our US based cruise ships. The role is responsible for following through the entire ordering and delivery process to ensure vendors are meeting delivery windows and quality requirements. The Purchasing Assistant will be in constant communication with shipboard crew to ensure order deadlines are met and to resolve any delivery issues.
Attention to detail and organization is a must.

Responsibilities:- Schedule and process weekly supply orders for assigned vessels, ensuring on-time fulfillment.
- Coordinate closely with vendors to confirm product availability, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Serve as the primary liaison between onboard staff and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve any order or delivery issues.
- Monitor and help maintain budget adherence for each vessel’s purchasing activities.
- Review and process vendor invoices accurately and promptly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Proven problem-solving ability and capacity to respond quickly to unexpected issues.
Previous experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to commute daily to our Salisbury, MD office.
