OverviewPosition Overview
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations for the local business while ensuring alignment with Kyocera-Unimerco Group standards. This role combines hands-on financial management with leadership responsibilities and acts as a key business partner to local management and the Group CFO in Denmark. The Finance Manager supports both local production operations and global financial coordination, ensuring transparency, compliance, and sound financial decision-making.
OrganizationalContext
The Finance Manager leads a small, hands-on finance team consisting of two team members responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, compliance, data analysis, and tax preparation. In addition, the Finance Manager is a member of the local management team. The role includes a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Group CFO and close collaboration with international finance colleagues. This position requires the ability to balance strategic financial leadership with day-to-day operational execution.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead and develop the local finance team.
- Act as a business partner to the local management team and Group CFO.
- Provide financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Manage annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecasts.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial results to headquarters and participate in management reviews.
- Accounting, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure accurate accounting in accordance with Group policies and local statutory requirements.
- Manage statutory reporting, audits, and tax compliance (direct and indirect).
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP and local regulations.
- Manage cash flow planning and liquidity.
- Oversee receivables and outstanding debt monitoring.
- Ensure smooth and timely handling of payables and banking relationships.
- Inventory & Asset Management
- Oversee inventory control, including monthly monitoring and bi-annual inventory counts.
- Ensure accurate valuation of inventory and alignment with financial records.
- Manage fixed asset tracking and depreciation.
- Global Coordination
- Serve as the primary financial contact with Group Finance at Denmark headquarters and global finance teams.
- Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and intercompany reporting.
- Support global alignment on financial systems, reporting, and processes.
- Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
- Oversee financial systems and ERP tools.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Support internal and external audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Relevant experience as a Finance Manager, Controller, or similar role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Experience working in an international or matrix organization preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems; ERP experience required.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with best practice methods for optimizing financial processes in a production company is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective leadership and down-to-earth people management skills.
- Hands-on mindset with willingness to support daily operations.
- Clear communicator and collaborative team player who easily shifts between operational day-to-day tasks and strategic financial support to the management team and the entity.
