This is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least three days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
Basic PurposeThe purpose of this position is to fill a new role created by upcoming business opportunities from the customer. The company seeks an engineer, preferably with some experience, although it is not required. The selected engineer will undergo a temporary training period at SEWS Detroit Technical Center (Farmington Hills, MI), as well as circuitry‑specific training at the customer site, including hands‑on exercises, before joining a development team for one of Toyota's upcoming new vehicles.
The new team member will be responsible for harness design (circuitry design).
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, 0–5 years of experience in automotive design (preferably harness‑related).
- Must be willing to travel.
- Knowledge of automobile electrical design software (Zuken) is a plus.
- Important Note:
The candidate's primary work location will be on‑site at the customer's location in York Township, not at Sumitomo's Farmington Hills location. - The candidate must be willing to follow the in‑office attendance policy requested by SEWS or the customer.
- Japanese bilingual skills are not required but are considered a plus.
