Genetic Counselor Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (PA/NP)

A well-established health system on California’s Central Coast is seeking a Genetic Counseling Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with specialized training in cancer genetics to join a collaborative Hematology & Oncology program serving a diverse patient population.
Why this stands out:• $150,000–$187,000 base salary
• Monday–Friday schedule (8:00am–5:00pm or 8:00am–4:30pm) — no weekends or call
• 100% outpatient, patient-focused role
• Work closely with Hematology & Oncology physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Play a key role in advancing precision medicine and hereditary cancer care
• Primary location in SVH Hematology/Oncology clinics with transition to Prime Care Spring 2026
• Opportunity for select days at the SVH Mammography Center
• 30 days PTO , 401(k) with employer match, CME funding + time
• Malpractice coverage provided
What you’ll do:• Provide expert genetic evaluation, risk assessment, counseling, and education
• Facilitate genetic testing and interpret complex results for patients and families
• Guide informed decision-making and care coordination
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, care coordinators, and lab partners
• Support quality improvement initiatives, compliance audits, and program outcomes
• Ensure regulatory, ethical, and clinical best practices

• Certificate in specialized cancer genetic risk assessment required
• Strong understanding of clinical genetics and counseling standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for patient-centered, precision oncology care
