Overview

Ro Health is looking for a dedicated Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) to join our healthcare team at a California State Prison. This position provides essential mental health care to incarcerated individuals, supporting a safe, therapeutic, and rehabilitative environment within the facility.

    Soledad, CA
  • Schedule:

    5 days/week, 8-hour shifts
  • Employment Type:

    Contract
  • Travel pay available for those living 50+ miles from the facility
Required Qualifications
  • Active California LPT license (in good standing)
  • At least 1 year of experience as an LPT
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to pass a strict background check
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and mental health rehabilitation
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropic drugs, and monitor patient responses
  • Assist in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and suicide prevention efforts
  • Conduct mental health assessments and document patient progress
  • Monitor and report changes in patient behavior and mental status
  • Implement and follow individualized treatment plans under the direction of RNs and mental health providers
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and assist with group counseling sessions as directed
  • Ensure compliance with facility regulations, policies, and ethical standards of psychiatric care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RNs, psychiatrists, and custody staff, to ensure patient safety and proper care
  • Educate patients on mental health conditions, medication adherence, and coping strategies
  • Maintain a secure and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff
