PURPOSE:
The Accounting Intern will support the Credit Department by assisting with process analysis, customer credit approvals, and credit limit management. The intern will help develop and maintain a database of customer-specific collection and deduction practices. In addition, the intern will gain hands‑on experience using Microsoft Power BI and Quick Base to extract data, develop reports, and enhance departmental reporting capabilities. This role will work closely with both the Credit & Collections team and the Sales Allowances team to support accurate reporting and customer‑specific insights.
MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Develop and implement new templates and workflow procedures for major customer invoicing, payments, and deductions
- Analyze payment trends and behaviors of key customers
- Support customer credit limit changes and ongoing credit limit maintenance
- Assist the Credit Manager with new customer credit reviews, including credit screening and reference checks
- Conduct research, perform data entry, and ensure accurate recording and maintenance of complete financial records
- Prepare and deliver a final presentation to the executive team summarizing findings and contributions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Summer 2026, 12-week internship
- 100% onsite (not a remote internship)
- Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour
- No relocation or housing assistance provided
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy
- Knowledge of Power BI and/or Quick Base is preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.
- Full time, 40-hour workweek, no overtime expected
- No travel expected
- Fall 2026 rising junior or senior obtaining a bachelor's degree, with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Agricultural Business, or a related field
