Job SummaryUnder general supervision of the Site Supervisor, teaches an assigned group of students using developmentally appropriate practices and by creating an environment in which 3-5 year old children can experiment, make choices, solve problems, and share their experiences with others. Participates in and attends parent education and parent involvement activities. In the absence of the Site Supervisor, fulfills the role of the Site Supervisor as defined by Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations.
Requirements/ Qualifications
- Possession of a Baccalaureate degree in early childhood education from an accredited college/university OR Bachelor's degree in any other field with coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education
- Hold a valid California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, Child Development Master Teacher Permit or higher
- Completed coursework must include, with a grade C or better, in at least one of the following core areas:
- Child/Human growth and development
- Child Family and community or Child and Family Relations
- ECE curriculum course
- Possession of at least 175 days of teaching experience with preschool aged children in a group setting (at least 50 hours of experience must be in an instructional capacity in a child care or development program working at least 3 hours per day in a six-month period within the last two years)
- Licenses and
Certifications:- Possession of an appropriate, valid California driver's license with evidence of insurability
- Attain and maintain proof of completion of 16 hours of training in preventative health practices, including pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and pediatric first aid, compliant with Title 22 regulations

- Site Supervisor permit with 3 units of ECE Administration and 2 units supervision
- Experience in developing parent or volunteer training programs
- Experience with evaluating work methods or results

- All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a CTC-approved agency to determine the equivalent U.S. degree and major, and the Foreign Transcript Evaluation must be attached to your application before your application will be considered.
