Under the general supervision of the Principal and under the direction of the Behavior Analyst, the Behavior Para educator assists certificated and classified staff by providing classroom support to students in need of intensive behavior interventions using advanced behavior management techniques in the Therapeutic Intervention Program. Requirements / QualificationsEducation as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015:
High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of higher education study (48 semester units) OR possession of an Associate’s or higher degree OR met a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge or and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics. Two (2) years’ experience working in an educational setting with students who need significant behavior interventions.
Possession of an appropriate valid California Driver’s License with evidence of insurability, First Aid complete approved MCOE Crisis Intervention Program within 60 days of employment and maintain valid certification, CPR certification within six (6) months of employment.

- $150 per month incentive for the skills of reading, writing, and speaking Spanish, as certified by MCOE
- $150 per month incentive for Specialized Health Care Procedures if assigned to specific students and trained by MCOE
- $500 annual training incentive to employees who are requested and volunteer to participate in training for certification and willingness to administer emergency medications/procedures as defined by contract
