Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Salinas, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing financial transactions and maintaining strong relationships with clients in the agricultural industry. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with growers, distributors, and logistics partners to ensure accurate invoicing and efficient collections.

Responsibilities:

- Generate and process invoices for agricultural products and services with precision.

- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and initiate follow-ups.

- Maintain detailed records of receivables, payments, and collection activities.

- Communicate effectively with clients and partners regarding invoice statuses and payment terms.

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts promptly and accurately.

- Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities as needed.

- Prepare comprehensive accounts receivable aging reports for management review.

- Ensure all processes comply with industry regulations, company policies, and client agreements.

- Collaborate with internal teams to address billing concerns and enhance cash flow efficiency.

- Support both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.

- Familiarity with accounting software such as Quick Books or Sage, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

- Strong communication skills in English;
Spanish language proficiency is advantageous.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

- Knowledge of agricultural business cycles and terminology is preferred.

- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable but equivalent work experience is accepted.
