Truck Driver CDL A

Position Description

We have an opening for a SOLO Home Daily Class A CDL Truck Driver at Ryder in Hutchinson, KS.

• Weekly pay: $1100 - $1300 average.
• Solo miles: $0.59 per mile with  miles per week.
• Solo stops: $25.00 per stop with 8-10 stops per week.
• Sign‑on bonus: $1000 at 30 days and $1000 at 90 days.
• Paid training.
• Start times: mainly late afternoon to late night shift.
• Work week:
  Friday to Tuesday, off Wednesdays and Thursdays.

• Deliver SOLO to: KS & OK.
• Home Time:
  Home Daily.
• Tractor Type:
  Day Cab.
• Trailer Type: 53  Dry Van or Reefer.
• Equipment:
  Pallet Jack.
• Freight:
  Touch – Food Products & Home Goods.

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance, and Company Drivers fuel the trucks at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.

• Uniforms, cell phone, and boot allowance provided.
• Paid personal time off starts at day 1 – 80 hours accrued in the first year.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements.
• Class A experience: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within last 5 years, or 5 years within last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, and/or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards, maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading if required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
