What You ll Be DoingThe Commercial Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems. Under the guidance of the Area Service Manager (ASM), the technician will handle routine service, warranty work, and emergency repairs, ensuring systems meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a customer-focused approach, prioritizing safety, satisfaction, and client comfort while upholding Nextech s values of quality service and integrity.

Min Compensation USD $30.00/Hr.
Max Compensation USD $40.00/Hr.
- Provide the highest level of customer service, technical ability, and quality to customers.
- Install, maintain, and repair standard refrigeration units for commercial clients (e.g., reach-in coolers/freezers, beverage dispensers, walk-in coolers/freezers, rack units).
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of refrigeration systems.
- Travel to job sites in the assigned service area and coordinate with Dispatchers to maintain schedules and communicate delays to customers.
- Be available to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis to address emergency service needs.
- Maintain the company vehicle, including cleaning and organization; wash the vehicle weekly.
- Maintain stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment, noting make, model, serial number, fuel type, and taking pictures as necessary.
- Document service details and parts provided to customers electronically via company devices.
- Diagnose issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems per manufacturer specifications, and clearly communicate findings and recommended solutions.
- Participate in company-provided training opportunities and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business to management.
- Follow all environmental regulations, including refrigerant handling and disposal per EPA guidelines.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and work plans, and using diagnostic tools, refrigerant recovery equipment, and specialized instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced understanding of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration principles.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; highly dependable and consistent in delivering quality work.
