Job Title:

Furniture Repair Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing, restoring, and refinishing various types of furniture, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role requires expertise in upholstery and finishing techniques to restore furniture to its original or improved condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and assess furniture for damage, wear, or structural issues.
  • Perform repairs on upholstered and metal furniture, including scratches, dents, broken parts, and loose joints.
  • Touch up and Refinish furniture surfaces using staining, painting, and sealing techniques.
  • Replace or repair upholstery, cushions, and padding as needed.
  • Work with tools and equipment such as sanders, drills, saws, and spray guns.
  • Read and interpret work orders, following detailed repair instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure expectations are met.
  • Provide recommendations for furniture maintenance and care to extend product lifespan.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Knowledge of various furniture construction materials and repair techniques.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of color matching and finishing applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy furniture as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with modern repair techniques and tools.
Work Environment:
  • Workshop or repair facility setting with occasional on-site repairs.
  • Use of power tools, chemicals, and adhesives may be required.
  • Occasional heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
