The Registered Nurse promotes and maintains a healthful living and working environment of clients and staff and strives to ensure that the optimal achievable quality of nursing care is available to all clients. Completes Kan Be Healthy assessments and initial nursing assessments on children referred to residential facilities. Refers any concerns to local health professionals.
- Completes initial nursing assessments.
- Refers any concerns to local health professionals.
- Completes Kan Be Healthy assessments on clients that need monthly or annual updates when children are unable to receive services from local health care providers in a timely manner.
- Reviews immunization status during nursing assessments to ensure that status is current, if unable to complete, refers to local health departments for immunization updates.
- Tracks clients with exceptional medical issues to ensure continuum of medical services are provided for the client.
- Monitors seclusion and restraint of clients
- Completes documentation for Kan Be Healthy billing.
- Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
- Ensures clients' rights are protected.
- Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
- Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state, and local rules, statutes, regulations and contractual terms.
- Associate degree in nursing (ASN) from an accredited college or university
- Licensed to practice in the State of Kansas
- Kan Be Healthy certification.
- First Aid/CPR
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI and Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Clearance check.
- Lifting Requirements of 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
