The clinical trials nurse is an essential link between the patients treated at Tammy Walker Cancer Center (TWCC) and all other healthcare providers in order to facilitate the clinical trials process. This position serves both patients and providers as a single point of contact related to clinical trials offered within TWCC; collaborates with all entities of the TWCC, SRHC and the Masonic Cancer Alliance (MCA) to be a resource for clinical trials/protocols, identifying trial eligible patients, enrolling patients, providing patient education programs, educating eligible patients about clinical research, and following the patient through the clinical trials process.
The position is responsible for outreach efforts to establish and maintain positive relationships with key customers who include physicians, office staff, diagnostic staff, nurses, and social service staff.
Associate's or Diploma Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor in Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
2 years nursing experience
Clinical research experience preferred.
Required Registration/License/CertificationCurrent Kansas Registered Nurse license in good standing.
ONC preferred
Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Healthcare Provider) successfully completed within the first 90 days of employment.
