Parts Shipper – Enterprise, KS
Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking a Parts Shipper at our facility in Enterprise, KS to receive, store, assemble, distribute, and route parts for our parts department.
This position works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some overtime may be required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for parts and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping station.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Insert items into containers.
- Nail covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or parts department areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Route items to departments.
- Operate tier lift truck or use handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Use computer to enter records.
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Drive vehicle to transport stored items from parts department to plant or to pick up items from several locations for receiving or shipment.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Monitor parts department tasks and recommends quality improvement initiatives to the parts department manager.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of MS Office and basic computer skills
- Ability to safely operate a forklift, lift truck and other vehicles
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance/procedure manuals
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work within a team environment
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
