Parts Shipper

Parts Shipper – Enterprise, KS

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking a Parts Shipper at our facility in Enterprise, KS to receive, store, assemble, distribute, and route parts for our parts department.

This position works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some overtime may be required.

• Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for parts and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping station.
• Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
• Insert items into containers.
• Nail covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
• Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Convey materials and items from receiving or parts department areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Route items to departments.
• Operate tier lift truck or use handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weigh or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Use computer to enter records.
• Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
• Drive vehicle to transport stored items from parts department to plant or to pick up items from several locations for receiving or shipment.
• Maintain inventory records.
• Monitor parts department tasks and recommends quality improvement initiatives to the parts department manager.

• Working knowledge of MS Office and basic computer skills
• Ability to safely operate a forklift, lift truck and other vehicles
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance/procedure manuals
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work within a team environment
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
