Overview
The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead‑acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in cars, boats, RVs, lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community through Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and volunteer participation in the Smoky Hill River Festival.
CompensationStarting pay rate: $20.66 per hour.
- Quarterly Attendance Bonus – up to $600 each quarter.
- Gainshare Bonus – up to 10% of gross monthly pay (≈$300 per month).
- Production Bonus – daily bonuses based on plant production goals (up to $11.50 per hour).
- A Shift – Day:
Sun‑Tues, every other Wed - B Shift – Night:
Sun‑Tues, every other Wed - C Shift – Day – Thurs‑Sat, every other Wed
- D Shift – Night – Thurs‑Sat, every other Wed
- Successfully complete material handling training and obtain the required license.
- Perform simple math and record information in written form.
- Input and extract information from the computer.
- Load and unload over‑the‑road trailers with powered equipment.
- Understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and perform team responsibilities.
- Comply with all safety and health policies and procedures.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean and orderly condition.
- Operate and follow JD Edwards system.
- Comply with current quality system requirements.
- Complete hazardous waste training within six months of hire and review every 12 months.
- Perform other work as assigned by Management, including 5S cleaning.
- Motor skills to operate material handling equipment in locations where product is stored.
- Ability to reach up to 16 feet in narrow aisles.
- Perform duties requiring walking, sitting, lifting, bending, twisting.
- Must be able to wear required protective equipment.
- Occasional lifting from grams up to 50 lbs.
- Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or related experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Reach truck, forklift, walkie, clipboard, pen/pencil, JD Edwards RF.
