Production Operator

Overview

Stryten Energy is looking for great additions to the Salina, KS team! Production Workers to fill Pasting positions in our production departments. Production Workers must work safely, produce high-quality products in an efficient manner, and learn other positions on the line. We’re seeking people with positive attitudes, safety and quality orientations, and a team-oriented spirit. The best candidates are dependable and take pride in their work.

Mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Positions available in Pasting, Oxide, Formation, and Assembly. The starting pay rate is $23.26 per hour.

• A Shift: Day:
  Sun-Tues, every other Wed
• B Shift: Night:
  Sun-Tues, every other Wed
• C Shift: Day - Thurs-Sat, every other Wed
• D Shift: Night - Thurs-Sat, every other Wed

Our plant is located in Salina, KS, but we have employees that live in neighboring towns such as Concordia, Ellsworth, Herrington and McPherson.

• Quarterly Attendance Bonus - up to $600 each quarter
• Gainshare Bonus - up to 10% of gross monthly pay (potentially $300 per month)

• Lift and handle battery parts, envelope materials, elements and batteries weighing from grams to 50 pounds
• Load plates into feed magazines and hand stack positive and negative plates
• Perform first piece set-up, weld breaks, and weld analysis
• Process  batteries per 10-hour shift
• Work with a multi-person team around electrical powered machinery, torches, lead melting pots, conveyors, computers, and ventilation equipment
• Learn and follow quality control specifications; maintain accurate and timely SPC charts, 002 forms, and other material control documents
• Be exposed to lead (dust, fumes, and molten form), hot glue, and other hazards
• Understand and communicate in basic English to receive training and perform team responsibilities
• Recognize and record scrap during shift
• Fill out JD Edwards reconciliation form at end of shift
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area per 5S requirements
• Comply with safety and health regulations and Lean Manufacturing Procedures
• Follow current Quality Systems requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management
• Follow safety policies and use of PPE

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting from grams to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, stooping and pulling
• Continuous standing and walking for a 10-hour shift
• Ability to wear PPE (gloves, respirator, safety glasses, metatarsal guards) as required
• Exposure to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
• Must work from 10 inches to 60 inches above the floor and reach 24 inches side to side

Equipment Used

• Small hand tools, powered equipment and control panels, hoists, torches, platen carts, safety equipment
• Personal Protective Equipment as required

Education, Experience, Skills

• Mechanical Aptitude Preferred
• Previous Manufacturing or Related Experience Preferred
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
