Job Description

This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage sales performance, and effectively handle assigned territory and targeted accounts. Build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within Abb Vie s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed stated goals.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, concerns and consistently gain calls to action to close on each sales call.
  • Proactively and continuously aspire to serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between Abb Vie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs and expectations, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy and execution.
  • Differentiate Abb Vie s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Relevant industry experience required; in lieu of a bachelor s degree, at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approaches accordingly; develops sales strategies from findings; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
  • Provides impact with ideas for the organization and adapts to changes; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Influences others and is viewed as a credible resource; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team.
  • Leads by example with positive behaviors and peer coaching; documented success in leadership and increased responsibility at district, region, or organizational levels.
  • Preferred:
    Proven track record in sales within respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing preferred. English proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries).
  • Essential HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and licenses as required by state or city. You are responsible for satisfying all HCIR requirements. Abb Vie provides resources to help answer questions.
