Job Summary and Qualifications

What will you do in this role:

The Special Procedures Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct care to patients undergoing treatments and procedures in Cath Lab and the Special Procedures unit.

· Collect specimens for testing.

· Assist physician during procedure. You will maintain and stock Special Procedure area.

· Be a resource for Surgical Scheduling relative to bookings.

· Provide relevant and complete documentation on patient related activity.

· Educate patient and family related to procedure, medications, follow-up home care.

· Assume responsibility to stay current with available training and/or literature to ensure quality patient care in Special Procedures.

What qualifications will you need:

• RN VA License or Multi-state Compact License

• Basic Cardiac Life Support BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date

• Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
