Join our team as a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic 1 (Monday – Friday with OT as needed 4:00pm – 2:30am), where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and monitoring equipment, conducting repairs and replacements. You’ll be a key contributor to the success of our plant, bringing your expertise and tools to a dynamic environment that values efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Sets up production equipment to run scheduled production.
- Discusses difficulties in operating equipment with machine operators to isolate problems, and then troubleshoots machine to determine cause and repairs required.
- Must be able to read and follow directions as found in technical manuals and document any and all changes they are involved in, referring back to the notes and records to understand how to set up lines and adjust machines and conveyors as needed.
- Performs necessary repairs on equipment to keep it in top running order.
- Must be able to perform major mechanical overhauls of some packaging equipment.
- Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and motor problems, determining if a motor or electrical system is functioning properly and is configured properly.
- Carries out required preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Assists in determining required design modifications and makes approved modifications to equipment.
- Performs tasks in accordance with approved procedures and follows all safety procedures and GMP’s.
- Provides coverage for mechanics on other shifts, as needed.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team setting.

- Minimum 4 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred).
- Associates degree in electronics field and/or Electrical Diploma/Certificate with at least 3 years of experience OR 5+ years of proven experience in related field is highly desirable.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
- Must be flexible to work shift work (days, afternoons, nights).
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes.
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures.
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software is an asset.
- Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude.
- Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
