Job Summary and

Qualifications:

• Prepares patients and collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
• Performs all mammographic procedures.
• Observes patients’ conditions and notifies physician or supervisor of unusual occurrences.
• Practices radiation safety as described in Federal standards, utilizing ALARA policy.
• Operates electronic information systems, including eMAR, Meditech, and PACS.
• Compiles appropriate records to expedite results.
• Assists with reception of patients and enters orders into electronic information systems.
• Demonstrates ability to perform quality control functions daily, including MQSA Quality Control functions for mammography.
• Participates in continuing education activities to expand knowledge of Mammography and meet continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies and ARRT.
• Performs other procedures as assigned (stereotactic biopsy, needle localization, bone density studies).

Experience

• Required:
  
  ARRT (R). Mammography certified within 1 year of hire.
• Preferred:
  One year of experience as a mammographer in a hospital environment.

Education

• Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Preferred:
  As above, with successful completion of formal computer courses.
